Yes, it makes happy.
13 How blessed is the man who finds wisdom
And the man who gains understanding.
14 For her profit is better than the profit of silver
And her gain better than fine gold.

Proverbs 3:13-14  NASB

No, it makes miserable.
13 And I set my mind to seek and explore by wisdom concerning all that has been done under heaven. It is a grievous task which God has given to the sons of men to be afflicted with.
18 Because in much wisdom there is much grief, and increasing knowledge results in increasing pain.

Ecclesiastes 1:13, 18  NASB

SAB Contradiction 482

Is it a contradiction that something can turn in its reverse? Candy is sweet, but too much makes fat. Is that a CONTRADICTION?

In many cultures people know the proverb: Patience is a tree with bitter roots that bears sweet fruits. Is that a CONTRADICTION? No, hearing it is understanding it.

However if the Bible gives such a saying it is time for the atheist to become active; Wow, that‘s a real CONTRADICTION, isn’t it? And woe to the man who dare to deny it.

No, it is part of life that things can turn into their reverse also in biblical matters.
If the critic had read his texts he would have understood this immediately:
– Finding wisdom is a blessing, as wisdom is profitable for life! (Proverbs 3:13-14)
– However, the process of searching for wisdom is often heavy: confrontation with the past, sins, facts that seemingly contradicts eachother etc. (Ecclesiastes 1:13, 18). Pain is a circumstancial aspect of searching for wisdom.

Both verses (above) are from king Solomon. Once two women came up to him with a child. Each of them claimed to be the mother of the child. What could Solomon do? He ordered to kill the child and to give each a half. One of the women fell on the floor crying and begging to give the child to the other woman. And Solomon said: give the child to her, she is the mother.

Solomon knew as no one that wisdom brings relief, but wisdom also often reveals pain in any form. “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.” (Proverbs 25:2)

Grace is never cheap. A high price was paid for it. Jesus gave his life for it in terrible pain. And by that it, or better He, can reach us in our deepest pain. That’s the wisdom of the Bible.

No Bible Contradiction.
